Sentence Building Level 9

Sentence Building Level 9 consists of sentence-combining strategies that give students oral and written practice in creating effective sentences that are more mature than the ones that they create independently. Oral practice signals the creation of sentence patterns until they become second nature to the students (their minds produce them automatically). Written practice helps the sentence patterns transfer to the written (or encoding) ability of students. The practiced sentence patterns will then start showing up in students' independent writing.

Sentence Building 9 focuses on creating complex and compact sentences with prepositional, verbal phrases as well as adjective, adverbial and noun clauses.
